How to mark a credit card purchase as recurring in Finplan?
Learn how to mark a purchase as recurring on a credit card in Finplan, see how to edit and delete it and which frequency is available.
Have a card purchase that repeats every month, like a subscription or a monthly fee? You can mark that entry as recurring in Finplan, without having to record it all over again manually.
What is a recurring credit card purchase?
It is an entry that repeats automatically, every month, on your card bill. This way, you do not need to add the same expense every time.
How to mark a purchase as recurring?
When you record an expense on the credit card, fill in the fields as usual (date, amount, category, description, bill). In the Entry type section, choose between:
- 1x: single entry;
- Installments: split into installments;
- Recurring: repeats automatically.
When you choose Recurring, you can also set an End date (optional), in case you already know when the recurrence should stop.
On the credit card, the recurrence frequency is always monthly.
How to edit a recurring purchase?
Once created, the entry type, the installments and the recurrence can no longer be changed. You can only edit the other transaction details, such as amount, description and category.
When you save the edit, Finplan asks for the scope of the change: Only this one or This and the next ones.
How to delete a recurring purchase?
When you delete a recurring purchase, Finplan also asks for the scope of the deletion: Only this one or This and the next ones, just like when editing.
If you choose This and the next ones, the selected occurrence and all future ones are removed from the statement at once.
Entries from bills that have already been paid cannot be edited or deleted.
