In Finplan, there is a default currency (also called local currency) defined for tracking your financial management. Let’s understand how this works.

What is the default or local currency?

The default or local currency in Finplan is initially set based on the default currency of your operating system. For example, in Brazil it is the Brazilian Real (BRL).

When you first access Finplan, some questions are asked, including which default currency you want to use.

This currency is important because balances are calculated taking into account the daily exchange rate of your foreign accounts relative to your default currency.

How to change my local currency

If you have already selected a default currency but it’s not your preferred one, don’t worry! You can change it through the Profile Edit section of your account.

After changing it, close and reopen your account in Finplan, so that the system recalculates your balances and displays your financial information correctly.

If you have any difficulties, contact Finplan support.
