How to register a credit card in Finplan?

Want to track your card limit, bills and spending inside Finplan? The first step is to register your credit card.
In this article, we will explain how to register a card, how to edit its details later and how to delete a card you no longer use.
How to register a credit card in Finplan?
Open the Credit cards menu (called Cartões de crédito in the app) and add a new card. If you prefer a shortcut, use the command palette and choose "Add credit card".
You can search for your card model in "Search card..." or fill in the details manually. The fields are:
- Card nickname: the name that identifies the card in Finplan (e.g., Nubank Ultravioleta)
- Country: required, because the card brand depends on it
- Currency: the currency in which the card charges the bill
- Institution: the bank or institution of the card
- Brand: choose it after selecting the country
- Limit: the total limit of the card, which must be greater than zero
- Annual fee (per month): optional field, the default is zero
- Closing day: from 1 to 31
- Due day: from 1 to 31
If the card charges in a currency different from your default currency, select the correct currency right when registering.
When you finish, Finplan confirms with the message "Card created successfully!". The closing day and the due day define how card bills work, so it is worth checking both carefully.
How to edit a credit card?
On the Credit cards screen, open the card menu and choose Edit. The "Set up card" screen opens, with the same fields as the registration.
Change what you need and click Save changes. Finplan confirms with "Card updated successfully!".
How to delete a credit card?
In the card menu, choose Delete and confirm in the "Delete card?" prompt. After you confirm, the message "Card deleted successfully" appears.
After registering the card, you can already record recurring card purchases, such as subscriptions and monthly fees.
